A figurative landscape portrait created for a client of her grandchildren walking in an open field. My client wanted the big brother reaching back for his sister's hand as if to say "Come on." Her description stayed with me in my mind. I took pictures of these wonderful children in the wildflower field for reference. Later in the studio I was able to piece together the correct composition and transfer it to a pencil drawing on a prepared canvas. The challenge was to add color!
